Takapoto atoll is situated 560 km north east of Tahiti and less than 9 km south of Takaroa, its “twin island”. This charming little atoll has no reef pass and the protected lagoon is studded with coral pinnacles where the ""pinctada margaritifera""(black pearl oyster) grows.

Takapoto airport is located close to the main village of Fakatopatere.
There is no shuttle service, so to get to the village you will need to go by car.
