You have questions about your trip with Air Tahiti ? Discover our FAQ section.

On Air Tahiti, the carry-on baggage allowance is the same for all our destinations.

You can take with you for free a baggage within the following limits :

  • 1 hand baggage by passenger
  • Maximum dimensions : 45 x 35 x 20 cm (17 x 13 x 7 in) - including wheels and handles
  • Weight : 5 kg (11 lb)

You are allowed to check-in for free a certain weight.

This allowance depends on the fare you paid and your travel class :

  • You have booked a standard ticket (Y or S class) :
    • Maximum weight : 23kg (50 lb) per person
    • Maximum dimensions : length + width + height < 150 cm (59 in) - including wheels and handles
  • You have booked a special ticket with an additional weight allowance (Z class) :
    • Maximum weight : 46 kg (100 lb) per person
    • Maximum dimensions : length + width + height < 150 cm (59 in) - including wheels and handles
  • Maximum weight : 23 kg (50 lb) per person.
  • Maximum dimensions : length + width + height < 150 cm (59 in) - including wheels and handles.

Children aged between 2 and 12 years benefit from the same baggage allowance as adult passengers.

There is no baggage allowance for infants.

Baby food required for the journey is allowed. Make sure it is stored in resealable containers, as you may be asked to taste the contents.

If your hand baggage exceeds the permitted weight and size limits, it may be transferred to the hold, even after check-in. In such cases, it will be "allowed with limited release" and a fee will be payable if it exceeds the hold baggage allowance.

If one of your bags exceeds the permitted dimensions or weighs more than 25 kg (55 lb), please check it in with our cargo service.

Read the section on Special baggage to find out the conditions of acceptance of this type of baggage.

If you exceed your baggage allowance in weight or number of pieces, your excess baggage will be accepted on your flight on a space-available basis and will be subject to payment of the applicable fee.

Air Tahiti operates low-capacity aircrafts. The holds are smaller than those of aircraft used for international flights. Consequently, baggages allowances are differents.

Your excess baggage will be accepted on your flight on a space-available basis and will be subject to payment of the applicable fee.

Duty free liquids are subject to the same restrictions regarding the transportation of liquids in cabin.

These items are allowed in your hand baggage, provided they meet the following requirements :

  • Each bottle or tube must not exceed 100 ml. Substances in containers of more than 100 ml will be refused, even if the container is partly empty.
  • Your items must be placed in a bag which is :
    • Transparent
    • Resealable
    • No more than a litre in volume (approx. 20 x 20 cm - 7.8 x 7.8 in)
    • Some freezer bags have these characteristics.
    • The items must not be piled up or overlap.
    • A single bag is allowed per person.

If these requirements are not met, Air Tahiti recommends to put your duty free items in your checked baggages.

Some liquids are accepted in cabin without restriction :

  • Baby food required for the journey is allowed. Make sure it is stored in resealable containers, as you may be asked to taste the contents.
  • Liquid medicines accompanied by a prescription or declaration in your name are also permitted in your hand baggage.

Your hand baggage must be able to be stowed in the baggage compartments or under the seat in front of you. It must not obstruct the aisle or emergency exits or be placed under your legs. The size of our cabins and their luggage compartments do not allow us to grant additional cabin allowance.

We recommend to put these type of baggages in hold. If you exceed your baggage allowance in weight or number of pieces, your excess baggage will be accepted on your flight on a space-available basis and will be subject to payment of the applicable fee. Click here for more information.

You can take your sports equipment as part of your baggage allowance.

Surfboards, kitesurfing boards, bodyboards, etc., are accepted on condition they do not exceed 1.80 m (70 in) in length and subject to available space on the flight.

Boards measuring 1.80 m to 2 m (70 to 78 in) must be checked in as cargo. They will likewise be accepted subject to available space in the hold.

Because our aircraft's hold size limits the volume of baggage we are able to carry, boards exceeding 2 m (78 in) cannot be accepted on Air Tahiti flights.

In most cases, your sports equipment will be "allowed with limited release".

If one of your pieces of sports equipment exceeds the permitted dimensions or weighs more than 25 kg (55 lb), we advise you to contact the Air Tahiti Cargo Service: fret@airtahiti.pf

Air Tahiti operates an open-seating policy on its flights.  Seats are not allocated at check-in. This means you can choose between a window or an aisle seat when you board the aircraft.
