Air Tahiti’s network of 48 destinations covers an area as vast as Europe or North America. Tahiti and its islands are among the most isolated on the planet, in the heart of the world’s largest ocean. This geographical reality makes aircraft the only link between the islands and their populations.
Air Tahiti offers you the possibility to offset the greenhouse gas emissions generated by your trip.

What is carbon offsetting?
Carbon offsetting consists of calculating the quantity of CO2 emissions from one’s activity, and of neutralizing it by financing one or several environmental projects aimed at storing CO2 or reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Air Tahiti has chosen a New Zealand start-up, whose teams also work in Europe, South-East Asia and the United States. It is a certified organism that offers environmental programs around the world following very specific standards set by the United Nations.
There are no organisms or associations accredited by this New Zealand partner in Tahiti and her islands, this is why 3 projects located respectively in New Zealand, Australia and Peru have been selected for our passengers.
This doesn't prevent Air Tahiti from supporting local associations involved in environment protection and biodiversity : find out more.
By offsetting on the platform, you are supporting financially certified environmental projects with a positive impact on climate.
How to offset the CO2 emissions of your trip?
The process is simple !
- Go to the 'Ahureva program page : here.
- Calculate the emissions of your flight.
- Choose the amount you wish to contribute to offset from 100 to 200% of your emissions.
- Proceed to the payment.
Your contributions will be donated to the three climate change projects selected, available on the 'Ahureva program page.

To give you an idea of what this environmental initiative represents, here's an example :
For a return flight between Papeete (PPT) and Raiatea (RFP), if you choose to offset 100% of the emissions generated by this trip, your contribution will amount to $3,30 USD. This is an affordable amount that allows everyone to contribute to preserving the environment and biodiversity.
