Air Tahiti celebrates Matari'i i ni'a

Every year, Air Tahiti is proud to celebrate Matari'i i ni'a, the raising of the Pleiades, and to support the Haururu organization as part of its commitment to Polynesian culture.

What is Matari'i i ni'a? This event represents our Polynesian New Year. It marks the return of abundance and the reappearance of the Pleiades constellation in Polynesian sky. It's the season when uru and fish in particular are in profusion, and the fish of the open sea are back...
